Finding my "gypsy roots"

I can't believe that May is almost here allready!  Yeah for summer being around the block!!!  Gotta figure out where the pool is gonna go!

Life is bananas right now in our many households...
  • Ben is living in Ulysses full time, working insane hours and trying to get all of the planting done.
  • I am working my second to last night of nights for one whole month.
    • Not sure how I am going to like being on days full time. It is def going to be different.
    • I am looking forward to being "amongst the living" again, but there will def be new things for me to get used to.
  • Interest on the house in Cimarron has picked up a little bit, hoping that something solid comes along quickly.  We are both ready to be moving on from the house in Cimarron.
    • Sure, we'll miss it...but, time to move on to new things! :)
  • I move into the new apt with a friend at the end of this week.
  • Brother (ryan) has a bday this week
  • Ben gets to come home (Cimarron/Jetmore) for the weekend...first weekend off sicne he started new job.
  • Attempting to make all of the plans for summer weddings, people visiting and people I am going to visit...

On a different note...I've decided that I have gypsy in my blood...and mom told me so!  I think that I have posted about this a few times before, but I really think this is true!

A good friend (Lisa) posted a page to my FB the other day about vintage caravans--aka rv's.  Lisa and all of my friends have known that it is always a dream to buy a "silver twinkie", heck my mom even knows about it, and it got me thinking about a new crazy idea---which I'll talk about in a few.

Often times, I used to think that I want "roots," but once I get them I am quickly itching to go elsewhere.  So, I have come to the conclusion that I do have "roots". I have roots where my friends and family are.  I go to Redding and I am home, I go down south and I am home, I have Sunday dinners w/Liz and Ry and I am home, see Sally and the kids and I am home...etc.  Home is where my friends and family are, not where I live.

So, with coming to that "discovery" some time ago, I have taken alot of extra time to visit friends and family this year...and I will continue to do so.

Now, bk to the new crazy idea...I can't afford one right now, but I think that I might start small and work myself up to one.  Below I've attached a few pix of ideas of something that I would like to start with.  I have found some of these "caravans" in decent condition for not a bad price.  So now, I have to talk the hubby in to letting me get one and to us fixing it up! :)

On another little side note, something that I feel needs to be said---I know some of you reading this think that I am goofy, travel too much and live too free of a life---per comments I have periodically heard, more so recently. Let me quickly and for the last time set the story straight. I know I have been given many many blessings in life. I never take all that I have for granted! I appreciate all of the amazing people in my life, and all of the opportunities I have been given.  But, if given the opportunity to have babies, I would give IT ALL UP in a second!!!  So please, if you don't have something nice to say, if you have a negative comment on how I live my life...I'm not interested in hearing it, keep it to yourself!

I'm done ranting, and talking all kinds of craziness. Here are just a few pics that "inspire" my new crazy idea! :)

I luv having a house (rental) in Ulysses that is older with crazy wall paper (not toilet paper lol), fun tile and built in drawers! Its fun to rent one, cuz ben prob wont ever buy an older house!

I am in luvvv with my new sweatshirt....makes me feel like a beach bum! I have a massive addiction to salt and vineager chips!!!

I got flowers this month for no special reason---best time to get them.

I got to eat vinces 2x these last few months---booo to the haters who dont luv it!

Wedding went to this weekend had homemade centet pieces---luv homemade stuff!!!

I miss & luv calis winter/early spring sunshine! The trips ive gotten to take this year have been awesome!

I love that Ive become more comfy in my own skin!

Ive come to the realiztion that Im one lucky odd duck! Im a bit of a gypsy who has strong roots all over this country! I will probably never 100% settle down in one area, cuz for me home is were my family & friends are...And I luv it!

Wedding time!

Tis the time of the year when weddings are starting to be in full swing!

This weekend I went to a good friend from nursing schools wedding. It was a blast! Lots of people, good food, music, dancing and lots of love and laughter!

It amazes me at the network of friends and family I have found here in KS in just five years! I may not get to see my nursing school friends as much as Id like, but im so thankful for the relationships Ive established here!

I am excited for this summer for more weddings of close friends in cali! Darn gotta go to cali again! =)

Back to blogging...

I'm bk...

Life got a little crazy there for a bit, so I decided to take a bit of a break from blogging.  There was so much going on, allot that I couldn't post or wasn't ready to post, so I thought best to take a vacation.

Here's a brief over view of the last few months:
  • Sick in hospital right after Christmas w/stomach junk
  • Lots of testing and money for tummy junk
  • Pretty decent bill of health from Dr.'s bout tummy, just new meds and follow up over the next few months
  • Visiting Taylor Fam & Florida
  • Working lots of over time
  • Ben job searching...which he was doing for bout a year
  • House still for sale, no bites...lower house price...think we're in contract...fell through
  • Travel to Arkansas/Memphis area for job interview for Ben--turned into a nice lil vaca
  • Turn down job in AR
  • Working lots of over time
  • I traveled to CA to visit w/friends & help Alana w/wedding stuff bout 2 months ago
  • I traveled CA again to see g-parents and parents & friends again (for short visit)
  • Ben took a new job in Ulysses, KS--a hour southwest of us
  • Last 3 weeks-current...
    • Ben living in hotel  during the week, returning home to Cimarron on weekends to see me
    • Ben looking for rental house for 3 weeks & finally finding one this week, getting keys tomorrow
    • Ben working long long hours & new job playing catch up and getting ready for upcoming business of "farming life"
    • Me working lots of overtime
    • Me getting ready to move into rental w/co-worker in Jetmore (near work) during the days that I work and then going to Ulysses to see Ben on off days
    • House still for sale, reducing price again, considering long term renters
    • Today, spent crazy hours shopping for Ben & new rental place and cleaning up house in Cimarron

That is all just a "summary" of the last few months. During all of this, life has definitely been throwing in lots of "growing pains."

My life lessons learned through all of this...
  • Life is extremely short and valuable!
  • Live life as simply as you can
  • Do what makes you happy, even if others frown on it
  • Make sure you take the time to communicate with your partner, friends and family
  • Communication is KEY to all relationships in life!!!
  • Frequently take moments to spend time with loved ones, and doing things you love!
  • Don't stress the small stuff
  • Prayer is powerful and goes a long way!
  • Be proud of the decisions you've made and the paths that you have gone down in life.
This year has definitely been allot different than I thought it would be, still not sure if I am a fan of 2013 yet or of the year "I turned 30".

These last few months have been full of lots of challenges.  But, through it all, I have continually been reminded of the amazing friends and family that I have.

I am officially bk to blogging...hope you enjoy!
