Finding my "gypsy roots"

I can't believe that May is almost here allready!  Yeah for summer being around the block!!!  Gotta figure out where the pool is gonna go!

Life is bananas right now in our many households...
  • Ben is living in Ulysses full time, working insane hours and trying to get all of the planting done.
  • I am working my second to last night of nights for one whole month.
    • Not sure how I am going to like being on days full time. It is def going to be different.
    • I am looking forward to being "amongst the living" again, but there will def be new things for me to get used to.
  • Interest on the house in Cimarron has picked up a little bit, hoping that something solid comes along quickly.  We are both ready to be moving on from the house in Cimarron.
    • Sure, we'll miss it...but, time to move on to new things! :)
  • I move into the new apt with a friend at the end of this week.
  • Brother (ryan) has a bday this week
  • Ben gets to come home (Cimarron/Jetmore) for the weekend...first weekend off sicne he started new job.
  • Attempting to make all of the plans for summer weddings, people visiting and people I am going to visit...

On a different note...I've decided that I have gypsy in my blood...and mom told me so!  I think that I have posted about this a few times before, but I really think this is true!

A good friend (Lisa) posted a page to my FB the other day about vintage caravans--aka rv's.  Lisa and all of my friends have known that it is always a dream to buy a "silver twinkie", heck my mom even knows about it, and it got me thinking about a new crazy idea---which I'll talk about in a few.

Often times, I used to think that I want "roots," but once I get them I am quickly itching to go elsewhere.  So, I have come to the conclusion that I do have "roots". I have roots where my friends and family are.  I go to Redding and I am home, I go down south and I am home, I have Sunday dinners w/Liz and Ry and I am home, see Sally and the kids and I am home...etc.  Home is where my friends and family are, not where I live.

So, with coming to that "discovery" some time ago, I have taken alot of extra time to visit friends and family this year...and I will continue to do so.

Now, bk to the new crazy idea...I can't afford one right now, but I think that I might start small and work myself up to one.  Below I've attached a few pix of ideas of something that I would like to start with.  I have found some of these "caravans" in decent condition for not a bad price.  So now, I have to talk the hubby in to letting me get one and to us fixing it up! :)

On another little side note, something that I feel needs to be said---I know some of you reading this think that I am goofy, travel too much and live too free of a life---per comments I have periodically heard, more so recently. Let me quickly and for the last time set the story straight. I know I have been given many many blessings in life. I never take all that I have for granted! I appreciate all of the amazing people in my life, and all of the opportunities I have been given.  But, if given the opportunity to have babies, I would give IT ALL UP in a second!!!  So please, if you don't have something nice to say, if you have a negative comment on how I live my life...I'm not interested in hearing it, keep it to yourself!

I'm done ranting, and talking all kinds of craziness. Here are just a few pics that "inspire" my new crazy idea! :)

Very well said friend! Thanks for the shout out and link to your blog, I often forget to check it out but you intrigued me to see what your gypsy post was about  You TOTALLY hit the nail on the head about the roots thing! It makes me smile inside to see little posts like this that show that adventurous happy girl I grew up with. Life has so many ups and downs and it’s a good thing to know what truly make us happy. I say start saving your lunch money and buy that “Twinkie”! I also share your feelings about how you would give it all up...we are both on the same page there. But hey while we are young and still can why not travel and enjoy OUR lives…we are the ones that live them. Don’t let others judgments or negative opinions bother you; usually they come from a place of jealousy or ignorance. I’ve definitely learned that from experience.
Let me know how it is going back to the land of the living. It sure took me a while to get used to it, but I’m sure in a few days you’ll be back to normal  Good luck with the house sale! We are in escrow still…closing date still set at May 8th…so we have one more place for you to add to your summer tour ok! I’m expecting 1 maybe even 2 nights stay ok! I’ll even blow up the river float and throw it in the pool for us to lounge on if you like haha (even though it’s probably about the size of the pool) Love you girl hopefully I’ll talk to you soon! XOXO

P.S. I LOVE these pics! I really think we need to plan a road trip...
